Welcome to Carey Baptist Church

Services will start again at Easter.

Services in church will resume on Easter Sunday (4th April). Initially, the services will be shorter than usual at around 45 minutes. Social distancing and masks will be required and there will be no singing. We hope that as further restrictions are lifted over the next few months we will gradually be able to return to something a bit more like normal worship services. If you would like to come it would be very helpful to let us know in advance using the contact us section of the website, so we can set chairs out accordingly.

We recognise that not everyone will feel comfortable in returning to worship in church right away, so we plan to livestream services to our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8LYW9Jna9DwlVTdU23BtbA and we will post audio files of our sermons on this site and on our sermon phone line. (01772 347 728 calls charged at local rate if you are in Preston)

We will also continue to keep in touch with one another by phone, WhatsApp and our Facebook Group where we can chat and where we post links to our service content. It is a private group, so we can share personal information and prayer requests, but all who worship with us, or have done so in recent times are welcome to join – just search Carey Baptist Church – Preston in “groups” and ask to join.

Lucy, our children and young people’s worker continues to work hard connecting with the youth via Zoom and Whatsapp (with proper safeguarding in place) and doing craft activities and story time for the little ones . She hopes that in person youth club might be able to resume with social distancing as restrictions are eased over the coming months.

These are difficult times for all of us right now, but we continue to pray for all those in our country and around the world who are being adversely affected by the pandemic. We trust that in this, as in all things, God is with us and will see us through.

Typically we go on a Good Friday walk every year (the image below is our Pendle Hill walk from 2019). We won’t be able to do that this year but hope that by late May it may be possible to arrange a walk together for up to 30 people.  If more than that want to come we will just arrange two walks instead.
