Children’s and Youth Ministry Leader

At Carey Baptist Church we have a number of young families in our congregation with around 25 children and young people in regular or occasional attendance. We run a Sunday School and a thriving Messy Church and we also run an annual summer holiday club. In addition, the church runs a full time day nursery. We are looking for someone to work with the minister and deacons to build on the existing work and to pursue our vision which is to:

Develop an enthusiastic and sustainable community of church children and teenagers that is committed to following Jesus themselves and recruiting others.

We understand the key terms in this statement to mean:

Enthusiastic because they love Jesus and feel him in their lives

Sustainable because there are enough of them to maintain their own culture

Community because they relate well to each other, and share spiritual things

Committed because they are personally convinced from the bible that He is the only way.

Recruiting because they know how to win others.

We believe that children who are part of such a community and remain so through their teenage years will be well equipped to resist the pressures of secular society and live out their faith in Christ effectively into adulthood.
